many years

Sunday was my birthday and such a good day it was! I had a bunch of stuff I thought I'd say about it... a description of the picnic in the park, my Deep Thoughts and ruminations on how laurelhurst park is not unlike a well-written short story, the long list of my many flaws and how I'd like to improve in the coming year, how despite that long list I am optimistic and excited... but when I sat down to write it I realized the most important thing I'd like to say is how incredibly fortunate I am. For all my whining and carrying on, I have Top Shelf friends AND family. Make better friends is never on my list of things to do because the ones I have (old and new) are all so extraordinarily kind, generous and fun to know! So, hooray for birthdays, hooray for new years and extra big hoorays for all you friend and family shaped people out there!

  1. Woo hoo! I'm glad you enjoyed your birthday! Laurelhurst was a great choice and I'll have to remember Area C for my own entertaining needs!

  2. I am so "glad" that you had such a glad time. I fully intended on being "there" but I did not factor in people "forgetting" to renew prescriptions that they needed this bus rider to pick up...ON A SUNDAY!!! It was most definitely not how I wanted to spend such a truly "blessed" day...I must say that I "love" the photo! So fun!

  3. Martina -- Area C is just the tip of the awesome iceburg at laurelhurst! I will be happy to go with you on a scouting mission if you want.

BBD -- you are sweet and EVIL. Don't make me have to "kill" you. Because I "will" if I am "forced."

We missed you, even though you are notorious for your low-down air-quoting ways.

  4. Don't you mean "air-quotes"? Just remember, it's still half-goat.

  5. Aw, that was a sweet post. Love the balloon. I am so sorry to have missed that event--to celebrate YOU, you-with-all-your-flaws-that-need-fixing. Could have offered suggestions. (? You KNOW there is something wrong with that idea, right?) I am also esp. sorry to have missed meeting those of your wonderful friends I have only read about here.

    ***Enjoy***your brave new year.

  6. Thank you, Patty! I'm sorry you couldn't make it. (what balloon??? if you mean the thing in the picture, it's a uh, thing that hangs up. probably paper covered with resin or something. it's very pretty.)

I believe I shall enjoy my year, flaws and all.
